The African Next Door hosted by Patrick Johnson focuses on his life journey and some of the challenges he had to endure integrating into Australian culture. I lived my life as a refugee for 10 years. While I was young I always believed that one day I will live somewhere where there are no daily deaths from shootings. Where I can eat as much as I want without worrying about what to eat the next day. However, one day I received a one-in-a-lifetime ticket to migrate to Australia. I thought this was it! I would soon later learn that the grass isn’t necessarily greener on the other side.
