G’day! I’m Roland (The Ripple Effect), I’m 28 years old, and I’m in love with the world. I drive around Australia in an old firetruck that I’ve converted to run on waste cooking oil instead of diesel, making podcasts about the environment. Self Torque is about sustainability – not just eco-sustainability, although that forms a big part – but holistic sustainability of the human experience on Earth. Our chats usually start with the things I’m preoccupied with most: surfing, vehicles, wilderness exploration, coffee, pollution, among other things. But what I really like is diving beyond these surfaces into the driving forces behind why each of us lives the way we do while we’re here on this beautiful spaceship.
