Bonegilla reception and training centre, was a migrant camp that ran from 1947-1971 near Albury / Wodonga, Australia. Thousands of new Australians passed through the facility in the 24 years it was open. After World War 2, migration from devastated Europe was seen as the only way for Australia to grow and thrive as a relatively new nation. The people that arrived in droves, became the backbone for a multicultural country that owes it’s success to the migrants. The six part series featuring first hand interviews, will have you crying and laughing, but ultimately these people will inspire you.
