First Episode: 2024
It is all too common when we think about stroke to see it as something that only affects older people. For young survivors of stroke, the challenges of recovery can feel insurmountable, but there is life after stroke. This is a podcast for survivors – particularly younger people – and their families and friends. Join entrepreneur, policy activist and father Piers Grove in the year after his own stroke as he puts the pieces back together, from the moment his stroke occurred, mental health challenges, to speech therapy to his journey back to work. Piers interviews medical professionals, world-leading researchers, other young stroke survivors and even his own family to explore how to find your brain once more and to raise awareness of stroke occurrence in younger people. Australia’s Stroke Foundation is a proud friend of 404: Brain Not Found. Piers is an entrepreneur, activist and producer. Piers is the co-founder and Chair of EnergyLab and a General Partner of Early Stage Venture Capital fund, Impact Ventures. He served as a founding director of Climate KIC Australia, and a Governor of WWF-Australia. Piers is also an experienced publisher who collaborated to create and lead Betoota Advocate, The Daily Aus, Australian Geographic and Junkee Media. Piers suffered a stroke in 2022 at age 45.
